Aloha Lions Ohana,
Wow, we are almost done with the first month and a LOT is happening. Let's get right to it.
- Tomorrow's flu shot clinic has been canceled. There was a change in the law that allowed the billing of the shot to Quest insurance and as such we went below the minimum number of students needed to hold the clinic. Unfortunately, this means that flu shots will have to be done with your own doctor.
- Our cheerleaders' hard work is getting recognized yet again! Today we got the good news that our cheer coach, Coach Kehau, has been recognized as a National Cheer Coach of the YEAR! Congratulations Coach Kehau!
- We are happy to announce that we will be starting two sports and piano lessons next week.
- On Thursday after school at the basketball courts Mrs. Harstad will be holding a meeting with all interested students from grades 4 and 5 to form our school volleyball team. Please see her at the courts at 2:30!
- On Friday after school at the basketball courts Mr. Cadelina (a parent volunteer) will be holding a parent meeting at 2:30 for all students interested in being part of our school basketball team. This team is not part of a "league" so all "games" will be internal to Kalihi schools if we can arrange it. He will host 2 groups of students, a 1st and 2nd grade team and a 3rd-5th grade team. Parents must be at the meeting to have their child sign up.
- We are also proud to announce that one of our alumni is going to offer free piano classes! On Wednesday at 4:15 we will be holding our first parent meeting in the music room to sign up. Thank you to Ms. Peacock for teaching the next generation of students!
- Just a reminder that there is no school Monday September 4, nor is there school September 11th.
