News About the New School Year (7/8 School Messenger)

Aloha Lions Ohana,

As of right now we are one month and one day from the start of school!  We are working hard to prepare the school for all the wonderful keiki coming here this school year, both returning and new.  As our staff prepare for them I do have some announcements and good news. 

• First, I am happy to announce that we are able to cover all school supplies for ALL students this year, all they will need to bring on the first day of school is their backpacks.  This is a ONE TIME ONLY type of event, so next year they will need them, but for this year we are happy to save everyone over $100 for each student.  
• Second, school starts TUESDAY, AUGUST 8th.  The teachers have their first training day of the year on the 7th.  
• Third, our Open House is on Thursday, August 3rd at 12:00.  It starts in the cafeteria where I will be making some announcements and then sending you off to meet your child's teacher.
• Last, I want to thank all of our summer school staff and year round staff for helping to get students, the classrooms, and the grounds ready for our keiki.  Without the cafeteria, custodial, office, and leadership staff the school year would not be off to the smooth start we know it will be.  Mahalo nui!

Thank you all for your trust and faith in the amazing staff here at Kalihi Waena.  We are here to serve our keiki and help make Kalihi an amazing community.  We do this together, because, We are the Lions. We are the Future!
