Aloha Lions Ohana,
We are all so excited to have you back for the start of our 2021-22 school year! As we prepare for students to return on August 3rd I have a number of announcements for you.
- On Thursday, June 29th we will be holding a Meet and Greet for our 1st through 5th-grade parents and students to meet their teachers, drop off their school supplies, and learn more about the school. Our schedule that day is:
- 12:00-2:30 Classroom information, T-shirt/mask sales, registration, and A+ after-school care sign-up will be available on campus.
- Classroom information at the tents by the cafeteria
- T-shirt/mask sales in the teacher workroom in the middle of campus
- Registration in the office
- A+ after school care sign up at Mrs. Fukuda’s room by A building
- 1:00-1:30 Families (last names A-K) & Multi-Student families to go to their classes, meet their teacher, learn about the class, and drop off supplies
- 1:45-2:30 Families from the first group are invited to the music room to discuss with the Principal the upcoming year. This can also be watched online at https://meet.google.com/yjt-xuba-xaq
- 2:30- 3:00 Families (L-Z) & Multi-Student families to go to their classes, meet their teacher, learn about the class, and drop off supplies
- 3:15-4:00 Families from the first group are invited to the music room to discuss with the Principal the upcoming year. This can also be watched online at https://meet.google.com/yjt-xuba-xaq
- Kindergarten Open House
- On August 10th at 8:00 am we will be holding our Kindergarten Open House in the Library.
- Safety Procedures for this School Year
- Drop-offs for grades 1-5 and Kindergarten who are eating breakfast will be in the cafeteria shall be by the cafeteria. Kindergarten students who are not eating breakfast may be dropped off by the café or directly to the classroom. We encourage all parents who are dropping off students to stay in their cars unless necessary. If you have to get out of the cars for some reason, please park in the grassy area by the basketball courts to ensure safe and quick drop off of other students by the cafeteria.
- All students will wash their hands upon entering the classroom, after recess, before lunch or snacks, and at any other transition that could expose them to others outside of their classroom bubbles.
- All students will wear masks daily while in school all day, except when actively eating and drinking.
- The cafeteria will have individual corrals (barriers) for all students. Students will be assigned seats and not allowed to switch seating. All seats and tables will be cleaned and sanitized between seatings.

- Free classes at Palama Settlement
- Palama Settlement is offering free animation, coding & LEGO robotics classes at Palama Settlement this fall!
- Recycling
- On Saturday, August 7th Pu’uhale Elementary is hosting an e-waste recycling event from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. If you have old computers, phones, or other electronics we highly encourage you to turn them in there to help our aina (land).
We will be having many other announcements over the school year. If you change your phone number or email address, please make sure to inform the office immediately to ensure you are able to keep up to date on everything. We are ready for this year to start, safely, so our Keiki can get back on track. We are all super excited to have you back with us for this school year because, We are the Lions. We are the Future.
