Kalihi Waena SY 2020 Q3 Update #10 (2/24/21)

Aloha Lions Ohana,

I hope all is well with you.  Sorry to have another round of announcements so soon, but some of these are time-sensitive.

  • Hale Ku'ai Leona: Distance learners will have an opportunity to visit Hale Ku'ai Liona, our school store next week.  Kindergarten and first distance learners may come on Monday, 3/1 at 1:00 pm.  2nd-grade distance learners may come on Tuesday, 3/2 at 1:00 pm.  3rd-grade distance learners may come on Wednesday, 3/3 at 12:30 pm.  4th-grade distance learners may come on Thursday, 3/4 at 1:00 pm.  5th-grade distance learners may come on Friday, 3/5 at 1:00 pm for Rooms A9 and A10, and at 1:30 for Rooms A11 and A12.  Teachers will let us know how many Lion Kala each student has earned and we will be paying students with Lion Kala when they arrive at our school store.  Our school store is located in Room A2.  Please wait on the grassy area and we will assist you as soon as possible.  Only students will be allowed in the store.  Parents will need to wait for their child outside.
  • Sprit Week: Next week is our Spring Spirit Week.  Please have your Keiki dress on the spirit days in the correct attire:
    • Monday, March 1: Hat Day
    • Tuesday, March 2: Pajama Day
    • Wednesday, March 3: Wacky Day
    • Thursday, March 4: Rainbow Day
    • Friday, March 5: Red, White, and Black Day (aka; Dr. Seuss' Day)
  • February Challenge: Our February challenge is out!  The #loveischallenge hopes to see what love means to you!  Send a picture showing what love is to [email protected] by March 5th to be entered to win a prize!  Please watch the video at bit.ly/kweloveis for more information.  FYI, the winner of our last challenge, Aria, was so gracious and showed love by giving her prize to another student.  That is the awesome kind of student we have here at Kalihi Waena.
  • No school Friday: As a last reminder, there is no school this Friday.

Mahalo to all of you for your continued support. It means a lot. We do this because We are the Lions. We are the future!

Aloha,

Mr. Larkin
